We are currently looking for an experienced Product Development Technologist to join our team! Ideal candidate will have experience with nutrition, biology, nutrition labels, R&D, product development, etc.

We are currently looking for an experienced Product Development Technologist to join our team! Ideal candidate will have experience with nutrition, biology, nutrition labels, R&D, product development, etc.
What You Will Be Doing
Responsibilities include (not limited to):
- Develop new products and/or processes that satisfy customer wants and needs
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Culinary and other business teams
- Create product formulations
- Generate product ingredient statement and nutrition information.
- Perform bench work, sensory evaluations and pilot trials
- Draw conclusions and recommendations for next steps
- Sourcing materials and suppliers, vetting suppliers, creating BOMs for product costing
- Manage internal and external suppliers (request samples and product specifications and other related technical documentation, discuss product changes, performance or regulatory issues)
- Perform product cuttings and shelf life studies and create evaluation reports
- Research product standards and attributes and review and interpret analysis by third parties if needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of formula and procedure for tests and bench top work
- Collaborate with Co-packers, Manufacturing, Operations and vendors for trials and commercialization to ensure smooth transition from benchtop to plant operations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, laboratory notebooks and computer database that are repeatable and reproducible
- Fulfill and/or oversee internal & external sample requests
- Conduct ongoing research on ingredient technology and explore opportunities for new product innovation
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor degree in a scientific field (Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, Chemistry, or other relevant field)
- 1+ year relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of food ingredients, packing, manufacturing environments
- Experience with international regulations is a bonus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Effective problem solving & communication skills
- Self-motivated
