Job Description Summary
Assist in the planning, organization, and management of the procurement spend of Redstone Federal Credit Union and its subsidiaries in accordance with the company Procurement Policy. Proactively assist strategic business units through price negotiation, Request for Proposal (RFP) submittals, and issuing of purchase orders on behalf of the company in a timely but compliant manner.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the oversight of the procurement functions of the Credit Union, including but not limited to; preparing and evaluating requests for proposals, managing vendor selection and relations, negotiating contract pricing and reviewing terms and conditions of purchasing contracts, inventory management and cost-effective procurement of products and services.
  • Reviews, compiles and submits calculated amounts for the insurance bond of Credit Union properties.
  • Assure that all documentation for each purchase order is following the Credit Union Procurement Policy.
  • Proactively look for ways to streamline the Procurement Process to offer more support for internal business units while remaining compliant.
  • Promotes the Credit Union by participating in community involvement and special events.

  • Completes all required regulatory and compliance training and maintains required knowledge of Credit Union products and services.
  • Works scheduled hours and maintains punctuality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education Requirements
  • Required - 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Business or Contracts Management
Experience Requirement
  • Required - 2 Years - Experience in Procurement, Contracts, or a closely related function.
  • Required - Experience in price negotiation with proven ability to achieve best effort pricing from suppliers.
  • Required - Experience in sourcing materials, software, and services related to IT and construction operations.
Skills/Abilities
  • Effectively apply internal and external customer service practices and processes to meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.
  • Learn and apply information, on a wide range of Credit Union products, services, and regulatory compliance requirements, in order to assess member situations and develop solutions.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience in performing job functions.
  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions, and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Use correct English including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems. Specifically Excel and Word.
  • Experience in Workday or another accounting software is preferred.
  • Ability to retain information vital to job function during training.
  • Set priorities and manage one’s own time effectively.
