Our client is seeking a Purchasing Specialists at varies levels who have sourced and managed raw materials from US and oversea based locations. Those with at least 2-5 years current experience with good working knowledge with SAP is highly desired.

Salary ranges between $65K-$100K dependent upon experience and education.

• Review requisitions via SAP making appropriate decisions regarding order quantities and delivery dates.
• Negotiate with suppliers, as needed, regarding price, delivery, and pay terms
• Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and may award contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers
• Ability to work well in cross-functional teams (Accounting, Production Planning, Quality Control and Sales)
• Interface with the Financial Team’s technical tools via Excel proficiency and SAP knowledge
• Receives and verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
• Ensure specifications on file are up-to-date and approved by all affected departments.
• Refers to catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
• Prepare, enter, transmit and maintain purchase orders with vendors for assigned materials
• Follow-up that order confirmations are received
• Review order confirmations relative to the purchase order as placed and resolve any discrepancies prior to receipt of material.
• Schedule freight carriers, as needed. Track inbound shipments for buyer arranged freight to ensure on-time delivery and minimize demurrage costs.
• Monitor inventory levels for assigned materials on a daily basis, assess inventory levels relative to inbound shipments and make adjustments as needed to ensure a timely flow of material into the plant while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
