Job Summary

The Process Engineer leads a variety of engineering and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements across the fiberglass boat manufacturing facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partners with production leaders to select and prioritize projects to meet business goals
• Manages & leads projects from concept through implementation
• Utilizes Lean Six Sigma and engineering tools to improve flow, eliminate waste, reduce process variation, and improve quality process controls
• Acquires & analyzes process and quality data to understand, improve, and measure process improvements
• Identifies, attacks, and improves bottlenecks by balancing work content for operators, stations, and production lines
• Modifies / designs / implements processes to improve production flow
• Works cross-functionally between production, quality, safety, and product development to reduce defects, improve product flow through the facility, and support new product launches
• Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective action to reduce process variation
• Designs & implements jigs, fixtures, and other production aids
• Creates work instructions, quality alerts, and process change notifications
• Reviews manufacturing areas for potential safety hazards and assures that all safety practices are followed while implementing new processes
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Four-year engineering degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering technology
• In lieu of a four-year degree, candidates with an associates degree in engineering or technology and at least 10 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting production lines in a manufacturing environment will be considered
• Prefer at least three (3) years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting production lines in a manufacturing environment
• Fiberglass / lamination / composites manufacturing knowledge is strongly preferred
• Must be self-motivated, high energy, and results oriented
• Strong organizational skills, effective planning, and proven track record of execution
• Must have a hands-on and customer-oriented approach to problem solving
• Must be able to work and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
• Must possess outstanding analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with technical prints, bill of materials, and CAD software
• Must be flexible to work extended hours and travel to support the requirements of the business

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year

• 10 hour shift
• 4 hour shift
