The Twinfield Union School District (FY23 enrollment 330) seeks a dynamic, experienced professional to be the next Secondary Principal. The successful candidate will work closely with the Elementary Principal to support the learning needs of all students, with a particular focus on grades 6-12 (FY23 enrollment 167). Twinfield School is located in Plainfield, Vermont and has students enrolled from the towns of Marshfield and Plainfield. Traits and characteristics most desired include: A focus on relationships first with staff and students as the basis for all teaching and learning;A collaborative leadership style that values and encourages staff participation and input;An understanding of, and experience in applying, the principles of equity in education;Experience with inclusive education practices, MTSS, and Universal Design for Learning principles;Experience in applying restorative practices to resolve student behavior issues;Knowledge of and support for proficiency-based grading practices;A whole-child mindset that recognizes student challenges outside of the school building and school day, and sees students for what they can become;Flexibility to work across grade levels as needed to support the elementary principal;Communication skills that are adaptable to various audiences;Ability to work collaboratively with leaders from the central office and six other schools in the Supervisory Union.This is a year-round position with flexible allotted vacation time, personal and sick days, professional days and support for professional development opportunities. The position reports to the Superintendent, Caledonia Central SU.
