1. Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.

2. Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatments appropriate to assessed medical conditions.

3. Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as appropriate.

4. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

5. Develop and recommend policies and procedures governing patient care to the Board of Directors in accordance with generally accepted standards of professional practice.

6. Develop and recommend to the Board of Directors policies and procedures concerning the appointment of medical staff, the assignment of their clinical privileges, and reviews of such appointments.

7. Responsible for the quality assurance program's supervision and reporting the program's activities to the Board of Directors.

8. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Medical doctor with 5 plus years of directly related experience.

2. Current New York State license to practice medicine.

3. Strong organizational and planning skills.

4. Ability to maintain good working relationships with others.

5. Exhibits a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with issues.

6. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., lift and support patients with and without help.

7. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

8. Regular exposure to infectious diseases, blood and airborne pathogens, needle sticks,

hygiene issues, other odors.

9. Able to tolerate clinical smells.

10. Ability to read digital readouts, recognize colors and operate necessary medical equipment.

11. Ability to operate mechanical devices used by patients.

12. Ability to wear necessary hospital masks, gowns, gloves and close-toed shoes.
