Position Summary

Performs setup on and operates a variety of manually operated machinery including grinding machines and hones. Collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity in the precision manufacturing of the highest quality valves & actuators for aerospace and power generation customers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision cylindrical and surface grinding machines and hones. Machine operation is performed both manually and automatically.
• Read and interpret complex blue prints, shop travelers, and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
• In addition to working on production parts, make tooling and fixtures.
• Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
• Installing fixtures and setting work offsets.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose deviations and trends; adjust offsets to maintain quality product based on the analysis.
• Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.
• Run multiple machine centers as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
• High School Graduate or equivalent; technical certification or degree a plus.
• Related experience in the set-up and operation of manual machinery, honing experience preferred.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and from complex drawings containing GD&T.
• Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
• Must be detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and able to stay focused on task.

• The primary environment of this position is the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and proper footwear.
