Job description
Monsignor Slade Catholic School, located in Glen Burnie, MD, has an opening for a director of preschool and aftercare programs. The successful candidate must be MSDE credentialed and have experience working with preschool students.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages staff by planning work schedules, evaluating performance, and developing improvement plans.
- Assists with the implementation of AOB curriculum, which includes coaching, communicating, and interpreting standards with teachers.
- Be accountable for the operation of the Edu-Care Center and afterschool program, ensuring that they are operating in accordance with state licensing standards.
- Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children and parents.
- Promote the positive image of the preschool and play a major role in making MSCS a provider-of-choice in educational programs for the communities that we service.
- Recruit, select and retain quality staff.
- Assist with classroom enrollments, registration fees, tuition, child files, and communications with families.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or child development education
- MSDE Credential Level 5 or 6 and MSDE Lead Teacher 90-hour Qualification
- Experience working in early childhood preschool setting, and demonstrated understanding of principles of early childhood development, preschool operations, and staff supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills that include the ability to interact and work effectively and cooperatively with children, families, and co-workers
- Experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred
