This position will have remote and hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor and based on business need.

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) is the designated State unit responsible for administering the State plan for the Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program and the State Plan for Independent Living. It authorizes expenditures of federal and state vocational rehabilitation funds for the provision of goods and services to enable people with disabilities to succeed at work and live independently. The Division has a budget of approximately $55M and a staff of 232, working from 27 offices throughout the state. The Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement unit is housed within the Division.

The purpose of the unit is to lead the creation, oversee the implementation, facilitate change management and ensure coordination for the Division’s Annual, Strategic Plan and Combined State Plan. In addition, the Unit provides complimentary services to support implementation of the Plans while enhancing the delivery of client services by providing leadership and expertise in the areas of disability legislation, VR policy development, quality assurance, program evaluation, business technology, data analysis, vendor management, and management of the State Rehabilitation Council. In addition, the Unit regularly provides consultation and advice to other agencies across Colorado and other states concerning the administration of the Division’s regulations and policies. The Unit also provides education and training to public and private agencies and organizations throughout Colorado and the nation about the employment of people with disabilities.

Salary Range:
$25.88 - $28.54 Hourly
$2,070.46 - $2,283.23 Biweekly
$4,486.00 - $4,947.00 Monthly
$53,832.00 - $59,364.00 Annually

While this position is hybrid, it must have a primary work location of 633 17th St and will be expected to report to this location at least 1-2/days per week or more as determined by business needs.

This position exists to support key functions within the Policy, Planning, and Continuous
Improvement unit, including some administrative tasks, as needed. This position monitors DVR’s Paid Work Experience (PWE) email box; reviews field PWE submissions for accuracy and liaisons with CDLE finance for processing PWE set-ups and payroll. This position supports policy development and rulemaking, including technical writing, as well as coordinating internal and public meetings. This position supports maintenance of DVR case service forms and other related documents.This position assists with answering and responding to messages on DVR’s main phone line, general email box, processing DVR mail received at 633 17th St, conference room scheduling and set-up, etc. Provides customer service to internal and external customers.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Substitutions:

Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Education and Experience:
Five years experience in occupational field related with providing program support. To include; taking complex ideas, synthesizing information from various sources, and writing in clear language that is easily understood, and professional experience using Google applications and Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating Google forms, spreadsheets, and managing data.
  • Technical Writing and Copy Editing
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience developing accessible forms to support data collection.
Required Competencies
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
  • Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of techniques to ensure clear understanding and ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concerns, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Written Communication: Knowledge of written communications issues and ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarify of thought, and orderliness of presentation.
  • Copywriting and Editing: Knowledge of a variety of formats, styles, and techniques for publishing materials; ability to develop and review these materials to promote business related activities.
Conditions of Employment
  • This position requires a criminal record background check, which will include E-verify.
  • Must be able to travel occasionaly to meet with clients and to attend meetings.
