Role Responsibilities:

• Provide plant and supplier series and launch support
• Participate in Plant and Supplier on-site meetings
• Support suppliers with data, drawing access and technical questions
• Stay abreast and report any pre-series development topics and work with team to solve and implement solutions
• Become the communication link between VW R&D (WOB & Puebla) and various agencies of VWGoA (i.e. Purchasing, SRM, Logistics, Production, …)
• Analyze and contribute to solutions for durability / field return & testing topics
• Cost Optimization support: Optimizing designs for local product improvements and cost reductions
• Organize quarterly Product Cost Optimization workshops and provide technical support for the PKO Specialist
• Verify PDMs & provide technical explanations to assembly plant and suppliers
• Support assembly questions to improve ease of assembly and verify process
• Respond to deviation requests to correct issues and make optimizations
• Respond to Build of Material questions (engineering change requests)
• Serve as supplier contact for the Powertrain and Chassis teams in NAR and establish VW design standards at suppliers, support KVS questions & access
• Communicate and provide solutions to component / material shortages (emergency deviations)
• Support the development of localized components
• Vacation support when the department leads are out of the office
• Communicate and respond to testing & validation questions (BMG, B and K release, …)
• Certify supplier test stands, check design status, recommend design release to Wolfsburg / Puebla
• Evaluate supplier design capabilities and share with the development responsible engineering group
• Participate in Model Care and Series maintenance team meetings

Qualifications:

Years of Experience:

• 3 + years of experience with automotive background

Education - Required:

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering (or similar engineering degree)

Education - Desired:

• Advanced Degree

Skills:

• Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
• Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
• Computer savvy – skilled in the use of software

Specialized Skills - Required:

• Automotive development or process background
• Able to read technical Drawings and Specifications

• Experience with Engineering / Technical Change Management
• Knowledge of Engineering Testing & Validation
• Must be self-driven

Specialized Skills - Desired:

• Experience in Automotive Production environment
• German and / or Spanish Language
• Strong VW or AUDI technical product knowledge
• Experience with AVON, TEVON, WebTesi, Nolis

Work Flexibility:

• Domestic and international travel required – approximately 20%
• May require extended training periods at VW Group Research Headquarters, Germany and / or Puebla
