NY Enrichment Group is seeking Pokemon Club Instructor to lead classes for k-12 aged students for our afterschool partners. Successful candidates will be supporting students while fostering and cultivating their desire to learn and play chess. Instructors must be able to successfully adopt a creative learning environment approach while promoting flexible thinking skills, and instilling values of respect, team, and passion. Instructors will model and inspire a love of learning that will equip each student to succeed in school and in the community. Candidates must be enthusiastic and exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to the communities we serve and demonstrate the ability to motivate and educate.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Facilitate Chess classes that follows a social group work model

· Responsible for managing a classroom of 15-20 students

· Build and implement a rigorous chess curriculum to students that begins with chess basics

· Establish clear objectives for all lessons and communicate those objectives to students.

· Building a classroom culture and promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills

NY Enrichment Group, part of the FSG holding group company is the largest and leading Health, Wellness, Nutrition, and Education management group for all nonprofit social service agencies in NYC and greater Tri State. NYEG’s reach extends to over 450 different programs. All the work we do is revolved around improving health and quality of life through the integration of all the services and programs we offer. Other divisions of FSG include NJ Enrichment Group, Pennsylvania Enrichment Group and Connecticut Enrichment Group.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must have prior performance experience

· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

HOURS, LOCATION & SCHEDULE

· Wednesday's 4-5pm

Additional programming will arise with other NYEG partners once the candidate begins

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
