Parks/Pipestem Resort State Park/Summers County Under general supervision, performs at the experienced journey level as a lead worker installing, altering, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, fittings, and accessories both interior and exterior at Pipestem Resort State Park. Prepares cost estimates and orders parts, supplies, and equipment. Installs, modifies, and repairs, steam distribution systems, hot water systems, fixtures such as sinks, kitchens, showers,
commodes, drinking fountains, hot water tanks, cold water service lines, reducing station meters, pipe hydrants, backflow preventers, storage tanks, mechanical steel pipe, bell and socket joints and copper and plastic lines. Installs, modifies, and maintains water chlorinators, sand filters,and water softeners.

Tests chlorine and PH content of water. Installs, modifies, and repairs storm and sanitary drains, interior and exterior, using pipes made of cast iron, galvanized steel, copper,
PVC plastic, terra cotta, vulcathene, pyres, duriron, or lead. Assigns and oversees work of plumbers and laborers, assisting on the projects. Digs ditches to gain access to water, sewer,and gas lines. Operates pipe cutters, pipe threaders, hack saws, drill press, and sewer cleaning equipment. Soldering pipes using an acetylene torch and caulking joints. Unclogs drains and sewers.

Knowledge of standard practices, materials, machines, and operation of the tools, machines, materials and equipment used in the plumbing trade. Ability to work from sketches, drawings, blueprints, and specifications to lay out and install additions to water, steam, sewer or
gas systems. Ability to maintain water, steam, sewer and gas systems. Ability to perform arithmetic necessary to fit pipe correctly. Ability to supervise and evaluate subordinate workers. Ability to use tools such as pipe threaders and cutters, sewer cleaners, drills, saws, and hand tools safely. Ability to estimate materials and parts needed for the projects and the cost. Performs related duties as required. Regular attendance is required.

Training: No formal training required.

Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a plumber or self-
employment in the plumbing trade.

Substitution: Licensure as a master plumber or completion of related training from a
business or vocational school may substitute for the required experience through an
established formula on a year-for-year basis.

Pay: $26,333.00 - $48,716.00 per month
