Summary

The Plastic Process Manager position is at our Eagle Manufacturing facility located in Wellsburg, WV. The Process Manager directs and manages blow mold and injection operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality and other production related activities. The Plastics Process Manager will review completed new tooling and processes to assure a complete and repeatable molding package is delivered. The Manager will also assist Supervisors and blow molding technicians in troubleshooting and solving problems. Other duties, relevant to the position, will be assigned as required. Relocation assistance will be available.

This position will have direct supervisory responsibilities and will report to the Plastics Value Stream Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Operational responsibility for molding and supply chain initiatives, ensuring that safety, productivity, staffing, utilization, scrap all at appropriate levels.
• Drive continuous improvement as a way of life in the operations, including constantly improving metrics in key areas.
• Creating and maintaining process documentation.
• Managing and mentoring the process team and sending them to appropriate training.
• Establishing metrics for key areas of measurement and hold teams accountable to achieve or exceed these goals.
• Establish methods to meet production and work schedules through the co-ordination of work activities with other departments.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• Request materials and supplies.
• Hands on approach in training Plastic Mold employees on, and ensure adherence to, job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
• Research and Development on new products and equipment.
• Monitor, assess and manage Plastic Mold employee performance.
• Prepare various production reports.
• Educate, monitor, and ensure Health & Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelors’ Degree in related field OR 10 years plant/general management experience in blow molding and injection molding manufacturing environment
• 5 years in manufacturing partnered with strong leadership skills and experience
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing operations and maintenance engineering
• Industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, quality systems, and standards
• Highly motivated, results oriented
• Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, including health and safety
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point

Desired Skills:

• 15 years strong knowledge of blow molding and injection molding processing and operations
• 10 years’ experience working with teams who specify mold machines, secondary equipment, fixtures, tooling, etc., so that you have a thorough understanding of why certain equipment or tooling is chosen and where to go to source the equipment
• 8 years of hands-on experience in blow molding and injection molding with an in-depth knowledge of the processes, ability to both train and problem solve molding operations, and extremely strong knowledge of tooling, materials, and processes that represent the state of the art.
• Strong, metric-driven personality and methodology, and must drive the business for continual improvement of key metrics.
• Strong budgeting and finance knowledge
