JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform setup and testing of HVAC product according to industry standards. RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Seeking individual to work in fast-paced, technical HVAC test lab. Individual will be responsible for setting up units and duct work; performing sound, airflow, and electric heat testing; and generating test reports. Individual must be hands on and have significant mechanical and electrical experience. Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Design and build test set-ups for performance evaluation

• Assemble and disassemble prototype units

• Perform airflow, sound, and electric heat testing

• Wire motors and heaters for power and control

• Fabricate duct work with plywood, sheet metal, and cardboard

• Fabricate prototype parts with sheet metal

• Instrument and operate test setups with pressure gauges, thermocouples, and tachometers

• Generate test plots and reports

• Support and troubleshoot product warranty issues in lab and field

• Provide accurate and reliable test data

• Maintain test equipment and calibration

• Maintain a clean and organized working environment

• Be highly safety oriented and constantly seeking ways to create a safer workplace

• Assist in personal training and provide guidance and feedback

• Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years working with HVAC or 2 years working in a test lab

• Strong mechanical background

• Strong electrical background, specifically three phase and single phase power

• Strong drive to quickly learn and advance

• Understanding of basic geometry

• Able to operate with minimal supervision and instruction

• Able to follow detailed written work instructions

• Competent with computers and familiar with MS Office (Excel, Etc.)

• Able to operate a data acquisition system

• Follow all safety requirements including wearing proper PPE

• Able to work well in a team environment and drive accountability

• 2 year technical degree in related field or equivalent

• Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists

• Ability to withstand physical exertion such as long periods of standing or walking over hard concrete surface

• Ability to perform recurring bending, crouching, kneeling, stooping, sitting, climbing, stretching, reaching, or similar activities

• Ability to read, write, speak and communicate in the English Language

• Ability to frequently work more than 40 hours weekly
