Plant Operator I

Provide operational, technical, trouble shooting, and surveillance support for oil treating, water softening/disposal, and steam generation facilities for oil field operations located at the Round Mountain
Field, near Bakersfield California.

_Duties/Responsibilities: *

• Monitor safe operations utilizing the SCADA system and onsite surveillance.
• Ensure compliance with all company and government safety, environmental, health rules and regulations.
• Monitor equipment functions, observing temperature, level, and flow gauges, and perform regular unit checks to ensure that all equipment is operating as it should.
• Start and shut down plant equipment.
• Record, review, and compile operations records, test results, and gauge readings such as temperatures, pressures, concentrations, and flows.
• Adjust temperature, pressure, vacuum, level, and flow rate, to maintain processes at required levels or to correct problems.
• Clean, maintain, and repair equipment, using hand tools, or request that repair and maintenance work be performed.
• Collaborate with other operators to solve plant problems.
• Determine causes of abnormal pressure, flow, or level variances, and make corrective recommendations, such as installation additional equipment to relieve overburden.
• Read log sheets to determine product demand and disposition, or to detect malfunctions.
• Test oil, water, gas, chemicals, and air during daily activities to assess factors such as clarity and

BS&W content, assisting in the detection of quality or performance problems.

• Coordinate maintenance work with crews when necessary.
• Distribute and process oil, water, and gas between facilities, using panel boards, control boards, and semi-automatic equipment.
• Control equipment to regulate flow and pressure of gas to feedlines of boilers, Steam Generators, and related heating equipment.
• Calculate BS&W, Oil and Grease, Hardness and H2S ratios to detect deviations from specifications, using testing apparatus.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or G.E.D.
• Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• 0-2 years Oil treating, Water Plant and Steam Generator experience, preferred
• Good understanding of oilfield production and process equipment preferred
• Salary DOE

This is a shift position. 7/7 12 Hour Day & Night

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
