JOB SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists the General Manager in the direction and coordination of activities of the manufacturing division to balance the needs of the customers, employees, and shareholders. All in the effort of maximizing profits.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assists in establishing current and long-range objectives, plans and policies.

· Advises, guides, directs, and authorizes personnel to carry out major plans and procedures consistent with established policies and Corporate approval.

· Assist in managing the adequacy and soundness of the division’s financial structure.

· Reviews operating results of the division compares them to established objectives and ensures appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.

· Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the division.

· Assists in representing the division with major customers, financial community, and the public.

· Assists in planning, developing, and implementing organization policies and goals.

· Coordinates activities of departments.

· Assists in directing and coordinating the promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase market share, and obtain competitive position in the industry.

· Assists in analyzing division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made. Assists in the allocation of the operating budget.

· Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.

· In the absence of the General Manager, directs, promotes, and reviews programs relating to safety, quality and productivity in the division and recommends changes where desirable. Performs regular workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 policies and procedures. Duties include but are not limited to: establish safety goals and objectives; review of safety statistics and loss runs; lead formal management safety committee; and participate in workplace inspections.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus eight (8) years operations/manufacturing leadership experience with at least five (5) years in a senior manufacturing or general management capacity; or equivalent. MBA preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise with modern manufacturing techniques and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated high level of persuasion and influence for the constructive solution of conflict, negotiating and relationship building at all levels of the company.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to ensure consistency with current company management systems and to develop and lead a cohesive, world-class team.
  • Demonstrated strong financial analysis abilities.

AUTHORITY:

· Supervises manufacturing managers.

· Overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of manufacturing.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

Professional

  • Requires wide knowledge of the principles and concepts of one area and general knowledge of other areas directly related with the primary area. The knowledge is acquired during university education.
  • Fluency with financial statements, lean manufacturing concepts and overall business management.

ENVIRONMENT OF THE POSITION:

Management of One Area

  • The position consists of the conceptual planning of only one area, full responsibility for the function.

  • The problems are unique, complex, and multi-disciplinary and require the identification of critical situations. A profound investigation is necessary, as well as the development of analyzing methods using multi-disciplinary abilities to solve the problems. The independence of judgments is necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
