SUMMARY

Entry level job reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Plant Maintenance Technician will perform skilled troubleshooting, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of facilities equipment, industrial machinery and process equipment. Learn complex machinery with opportunity for specialization or advancement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Maintenance/Repair: Participate in preventive maintenance programs for plant equipment and machinery; identify equipment maintenance needs; document mechanical equipment condition and report. Perform routine mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, and replacement parts. Part fabrication from drawings.

· Parts Procurement: Submit requests for plant equipment & replacement parts. Interpret schematics and equipment manuals

· Engineering Support: Collaborate with Engineers and Process Technicians to devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electronic components and machinery.

· Plant Safety: Adhere to plant safety and sanitationrequirements. Complete work assignments efficiently and as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· High Hands-on Mechanical Aptitude, and basic electrical circuit knowledge and ability to learn 3 phase wiring and applications.

· Ability to follow work instructions and procedure protocols and thus properly fill out forms and file accordingly a must

· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with engineers and machine shop personnel and other plant personnel

· Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, CAD drawings and sketches.

· Ability to perform and operate process and production machinery to ensure proper functioning and performance.

· Ability to perform maintenance, troubleshoot and repair plant facilities and production equipment.

· Must be able to work in organized fashion and keep tools and work areas organized. Must be able to clean up properly after work is completed.

· Ability to properly use gages and electrical meters and other measuring instruments

· Ability to learn machining processes and light welding

· Ability to comply with all quality policies, procedures, specifications, regulations and instructions consistent with ISO requirements and safety procedures.

· Performs all other task as assigned.

· Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.

· US Citizenship Required. Must provide either US Passport, Birth Certificate, Naturalization Certificate or Certificate of Citizenship

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent, One year of experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems or equivalent.

COMPLEXITY

· Large spectrum of types of machinery, production, process and plant facility equipment.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra, pressure and force calculations, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms in various work environments. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Variable work environments from air conditioned front offices, labs, and special environment process areas, to cold/warm/hot production floor and plant facility areas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
