Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Plant Engineer is responsible for implementing designated capital projects programs. The individual will identify and implement continuous improvement processes and, as needed, support Corporate Engineering with project installations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare an annual capital budget and determine the projects order of priority
  • Identify cost-saving projects with desirable ROI for production, maintenance, lab, and warehouse areas
  • Utilize Six Sigma and Lean methodology to identify continuous improvement opportunities with product quality and production processes
  • Design, engineer and implement capital projects approved by corporate office, to include the calculation of ROI for all projects
  • Submit progress reports to the Plant Manager, as required
  • Utilize CAD, (AutoCAD Inventor, Solidworks, etc.), to design and build robust manufacturing line improvements
  • Train personnel in the use of new equipment
  • Monitor monthly cost of plant utilities and insure maximum utilization
  • Assist ISO/Safety Coordinator in monitoring the plant to insure compliance with all Government (Federal, State, and Local) laws and regulations
  • Evaluate new and existing equipment concerning machine guarding, LOTO, operating and maintenance procedures and other safety related concerns

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in mechanical engineering discipline
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience preferably in the plastics or extruding industry.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and 6 Sigma methodology
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and follow-up skills
  • Proficient computer skills with AutoCAD, MS Office package

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ladder Logic programming Allen Bradley or Schneider PLC Programming using RSLogix/RSLinx and Unity Pro
  • Experience with Intellution FIX32/iFIX SCADA systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
