Modine Manufacturing is hiring for a Plant Buyer to assist with plant buying operations in our Lawrenceburg, Tennessee facility!

What Will You Do?

You will manage components, supplies, and logistics to ensure that daily production schedules are maintained. You will use resources such as SAP to track requirements and work with suppliers to support on time delivery of components. Your performance is important to the success of the plant daily operations. You will report directly to the Materials Manager within the Lawrenceburg, TN plant.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Purchasing of productive and non-productive supplies from established supplier bases while controlling inventory and associated costs.
• Work with Corporate Purchasing.
• Use SAP and other resources to support customers, suppliers, and inter-company transfer of parts.
• Analyze purchased item requirements that define all demand.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Prepare material requisition and order using approved suppliers regarding specifications, quantities, pricing, due dates, and other shipping information.
• Work with management on plant capacities, due dates, changes, and supplier requests on a daily basis, and follow up with suppliers on other situations that can arise.
• Help develop a materials strategy that maximizes customer satisfaction and meets inventory targets.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, maintain purchasing records, and supplier files.
• Compile and communicate all changes in documentation affecting suppliers.
• Disposition of non-conforming materials and obsolete materials.
• Take an active role in cycle counts and physical inventory monitoring.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor's degree in materials management, business, or a related field is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in material control or buying is required.
• Experience with SAP is beneficial.
• Understand TS 16949 and ISO 14001 is beneficial, but not required.
