Job Title: Physician Assistant
Valley Stream and Island Pediatrics

Monday: OFF
Tuesday 8:30 am to 7:00 pm
Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30 am to 6 pm
Friday: 8:30 am to 5 pm
Rotating Saturdays 8:30 am to 12 pm
Rotating Sundays 9 am to 11 am
On Call Rotation Coverage (eves/weekends)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assesses the health status of patients/families by means of comprehensive health history and physical examination.
  • Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultations and laboratory examination, prescribes/alters medication regimens, interprets findings and alters plan of care according to collaborative practice agreement and protocols in designated area.
  • Provides teaching and counseling in the areas of health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses.
  • Documents findings and plan of care in the patient's medical record.
  • Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Performs a patient record review with the collaborating physician in a timely fashion.
  • Advocates for patients/families and supports patients' rights.
  • Maintains a current level of knowledge relative to professional practice.
  • Acts as resource and leader to staff.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from Accredited PA Program
  • NYS License Physician Assistant with NCCPA Board Certification
  • Previous experience working in a physician practice
  • Excellent provider-patient communication
  • Completed credentialing with all major insurances preferred
  • Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) – Specifically GE Centricity
Physical Requirements:
  • Medical office that is both physically and emotionally demanding
  • Standing or stooping for long periods of time.
  • Mild physical labor to complete the tasks at hand.
  • Exposure to blood, chemicals, and other bodily fluids.
  • Possible heavy lifting (infants, toddlers, children)
  • Other physical demands that coincide with the duties of a laboratory professional.

Compensation & Benefits
:
Compensation: Up to $110,000 commensurate with experience
