JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Technician is the front line of Pharmacy Operations and critical to our mission to ensure that every customer is treated with service excellence. The position is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare, intake, route and release customer prescription orders timely and efficiently
  • Process prescription payments, may require use of computer, cash register or point of sale system
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in all communication channels to both internal and external customers
  • Receive, record and track inventory and shipments
  • Maintain and ensure that pharmacy is organized and sanitary
  • All other duties as assigned by Pharmacist In Charge and Pharmacy Manager

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma required, some college level coursework in Pharmaceutical a plus.
  • Current, valid registration to practice as a Pharmacy Technician on Guam OR have the ability to complete the required hours necessary to obtain registration from the Guam Board of Examiners for Pharmacy (GBEP) within 6 months.
  • Current, valid certificate as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association Certification (NHA).
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years' working in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
  • Must clear an OIG Exclusions Search.
  • Must be able to deliver exceptional customer service under extreme pressure without compromising quality and regulatory processes.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to remain personable and professional when dealing with difficult customers.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to learn at a faster than average pace.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical equations in order to process payments and perform inventory tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting and leaning up to 90% of the time.
  • May be seated for short or long periods of time utilizing office equipment such as a calculator, cash register, computer and other pharmaceutical equipment.
  • Must be able to count, pinch, pick, write and lift with or without assistance.

Job Type: Full-time
