VetRxDirect, a national online pet pharmacy founded in 2006, has immediate full-time openings with competitive pay and benefits for a Pharmacy Support Person/ Shipping Clerk. We ship all over the country, and shipping associates are a vital part of our pharmacy. Shipping clerks package orders and use computer software to select the best shipping method. Successful candidates will need to work quickly and accurately, using their judgment to help keep costs down. We are looking for a clever, creative, hard-working team player who takes pride in their attention to detail. We want you to get things right, and to help us get things right and solve problems.

Shipping associates work 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime opportunities, usually on Mondays. Most of the day is spent moving and packaging orders, then using shipping software to make decisions about shipping methods. Other tasks include checking the accuracy of orders versus invoices, fabricating boxes, organizing the shipping area, and tracking shipping supplies. Associates report to the lead shipper and pharmacy director.

Shipping associates are on their feet all day and need to carry and move orders up to 30 pounds, though most orders weigh less than one pound. Shippers must handle repeated lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and sorting packages of all sizes. Associates may also be using a computer up to six hours a day, and must be able to learn and use a couple of key computer programs. Effective communication with other shippers, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacists is also important. Being able to focus and maintain attention to detail when doing repetitive tasks is crucial.

Shipping experience of at least one year is preferred, but we will train the right candidate. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associates must also be able to get licensed as pharmacy support staff by the Iowa State Board of Pharmacy. Job Duties:

• Stand at a counter to prepare orders for shipping by bagging, boxing, wrapping, and packaging items with the hands.

• Use a computer and judgment to select and create shipping labels.

• Use judgment to verify the accuracy of products pulled for over-the-counter orders.

• Stock shelves and organize inventory.

• Use a box making machine and the hands to fold and tape boxes.

• Process over-the-counter orders.

• Pull over-the-counter orders.

• File and organize prescriptions.

• Promote effective working relationships as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Adhere to company policies.
