About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Pharmacist in Charge to support our Pharmacy Operations Department. You’ll work alongside collaborative partners and dedicated achievers in the field. You’ll perform the duties of a licensed Pharmacist; ensure the safety and security of merchandise; and ensure rigid adherence to all laws and regulations governing the sale of pharmaceuticals.

You’re excited about this opportunity because…

  • You’ll review prescriptions issued by the Physician, or other authorized Prescriber to assure accuracy, appropriateness of medication, and determine formulas and ingredients needed
  • You’ll direct pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals
  • You’ll answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals
  • You’ll maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste
  • You’ll enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory
  • You’ll assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength
  • You’ll communicate with and treat the company's customers of various ages
  • You’ll comply with all State and Federal Laws and Regulations

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have an active and unrestricted pharmacy license in residence state
  • You have active and unrestricted Pharmacy licenses in Alabama, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia (preferred)
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
  • You have minimum 3 years experience as a licensed pharmacist and 2 years experience in a management role and/or as a PIC (Community/retail experience is preferred for work pace)Your Pharmacy License(s) must be in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
  • You’re proficient in all aspects of pharmacy law, policies, and procedures
  • You have effective communication skills and strong sense of teamwork
  • You possess extensive knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations surrounding pharmacy including facility inspection and licensing processes
  • You have experience building a pharmacy team - including but not limited to recruiting, interviewing and hiring (Pharmacists, Technicians, and Interns)
  • You have experience with performance metrics and process improvement
