Essential duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all activities and operations of the Pelletizer line with complete understanding of the line and how each section functions and why.
  • Follows any and all procedures that are currently being implemented regarding safety, process and ISO.
  • Notifies correct personnel of issues that may occur, other than the ordinary.
  • Notifies the shift or line operation manager of quality and process issues as well as maintenance personnel of maintenance problems.
  • Understand strand faults, how to identify and correct.
  • Understand materials such as regrind and different grades.
  • Understand materials and how they react to the machine.
  • Perform start ups and shut downs.
  • Possesses knowledge of dismantling of the die, gate, screen, cutter and transit tube and reassembly of these components.
  • Understands the cooling water system and how each section functions.
  • Understands all the controls of the blender and its capacity.
  • Trains new personnel.
  • Responsible to perform other duties and activities as directed.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/ or ability required.

  • Ability to set up, operate or tend machine that extrudes strands into a cooling bath, cutter and bagger.
  • Set controls to activate and adjust extruding and cutting machines.
  • Observe machine operation, control boards, gauges, feed bag and fill bag to detect and prevent malfunctions.
  • Remove venting material using proper PPE and hand tools.
  • Record details of the machine operation, materials for process, material produced and waste.
  • Troubleshooting: determine causes of operation errors and determine how to correct.
  • Possesses basic math skills.
  • Ability to competently and effectively manage time and complete assigned work.
  • Work as a team player and have the ability to coordinate with fellow workers.
  • Ability to use warehouse equipment such as a forklift.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all internal departments as required.
  • Equipment maintenance: perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed such as blocked screen, clogged die, clogged water filter, clogged pelletizer, worn pelletizer rolls and clogged transit tube etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.25 - $18.00 per hour
