An MD or DO degree, board certification in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology with ongoing maintenance of certification and meet credentialing requirements for Children's National Hospital Division of Anesthesiology, Pain, and Perioperative Medicine. Must have additional training and/or experience in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
Job Description:
Children's National Hospital, a free-standing, children's academic hospital in Washington, DC, is ranked #5 in the 2022-23 USN&W rankings of pediatric hospitals. We are a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma center and hold Level 1 Pediatric Surgery Verification from the American College of Surgeons. Faculty have academic appointments at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Our outstanding Cardiac Anesthesiology team provides anesthesia services for over 350 cardiac surgical cases and 700 cardiac catheterization procedures per year as well as provides anesthesia for patients with congenital heart disease undergoing non-cardiac and/or imaging procedures.
We have an ACGME-accredited advanced fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology. Residents from George Washington University, Uniformed Health Services University (National Capital Consortium), and Georgetown University rotate here for their pediatric anesthesiology training. We provide a supportive and collaborative environment for all staff with mentorship, professional development, and potential leadership opportunities for those interested.
