Job Description

We are looking for State Inspectors that are A, B or C level Technicians with experience in the automotive repair field and high volume facility experience. This position includes maintenance, diagnosing and prep new and used cars. Continued education and opportunity for advancement provided for those with the ability and the motivation to succeed. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy following dealership and factory standards
  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair
  • Communicates with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of manufacturer technical bulletins
  • Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean and notifies Service Advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of a vehicle
  • Ensures the shop area is neat and clean and that equipment, tools, manuals, and supplies are kept in good condition and properly stored
  • Understands, complies with, and enforces all complies federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Completes all OSHA training when required
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Reports any safety issues to management immediately
  • Performs other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of experience in automotive service/repair
  • ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certification)
  • Previous experience as an A or B or Master class service technician and/or a State Inspection License preferred
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Can drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
  • Able to hold yourself accountable and achieve goals with limited direct supervision
  • An impressive work ethic
  • Able to work weekends and holidays when required
