Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with over 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices ,is seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist resident in our Philadelphia, PA office. Reporting to the Payroll Manager.
Job Description:
  • Ability to maintain partner and employee financial data in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Process the monthly, semi-monthly and biweekly multi-state payrolls for the Firm using ADP Workforce Now and create reports as requested.
  • Process new hires, new hire tax set-ups, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, direct deposit, time sheet data, pay rate changes quickly and accurately.
  • Process bonus payments, special pay, retroactive adjustments, sick leave and worker’s compensation adjustments.
  • Process garnishment and wage attachment for payroll processing plus process the payments to the various agencies by check or electronic filings.
  • Ability to calculate and prepare off cycle payroll requests.
  • Create and download data files, checking for accuracy and loading the files into the payroll system for processing.
  • Reconcile and audit payroll processing each pay period, review and audit of payroll reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Download payroll information and start new pay cycle.
  • Create and download payroll reports and distribute them to appropriate departments.
  • Sort and distribute payroll checks and reports in a timely manner to appropriate recipients
  • Answer all questions promptly, accurately and professionally.
  • Maintain employee’s individual payroll data files and employee data in the ADP payroll system.
  • Ability to work with Human Resources, Benefits and Finance departments
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Establishes/adheres to Department budget; seeks opportunities to improve Department efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma; and minimum 3 years of experience in finance, payroll experience preferred.
  • Experience in ADP Workforce Now, ADP iPay, Workday, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and adapt to change and balance competing demands.
  • A self-starter and ability to work within a team is a must.
