Summary

Glens Falls Hospital is seeking an energetic and motivated individual who is comfortable pushing a wheelchair, lifting patients, and helping them to board the appropriate medical transport vehicle! Serving as the point of contact for patient escort, the Patient Transport Aide plays a vital role in ensuring patient satisfaction, and quality care. Description

To provide a service in the form of distribution and safe/timely transportation of patients, medical records and materials for the support of Glens Falls Hospital and its customers, by performing duties in the following areas: Escort and Runners, as well as the additional duties of helping sort and answer phones for Mail, Pre-admission Testing Result Reports, Medi-Ride, and Courier Routes as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent positive communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Able to learn & use computers and printers
• Able to recognize and select correct course of action in all segments of Distribution
• Clerical skills
• Basic math and reading skills

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations

• Current CPR certification within 3 months after hire
