Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
The Patient Transporter is responsible for ensuring safe and timely transportation of patients, patient records, and medications.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Assist patients into and out of wheelchairs, moveable beds, and cars
- Lift patients onto and off beds
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families; inform them of where they’re going and describe procedures to put them at ease; demonstrate compassion
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned and in good working order between transports
- Assist of moving and storage of equipment as needed
- Respond to pages in a timely manner
What You’ll Bring
- Prior patient care experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Must have a passion for excellence
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professionalism displayed through sound judgement, initiative, and flexibility
- Good interpersonal, communication, team-work, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through skills
- Ability to multi-task constantly, react to changes quickly/productively, and tolerate interruptions
- Ability to perform work when no directions are given, and give directions to others
- Remain flexible, organized, professional and able to analyze, make sound decisions under stressful situations
- Demonstrate maturity and accountability
