Where you fit in
The Patient Representative is responsible for acting as a liaison among patients, families and staff members to facilitate a smooth flow of communication. The Representative will be responsible for communicating with the various staff members in an effort to keep patients and families up to date regarding their visit.
Your exceptional skills
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of the department and hospital layout to assist patients and visitors as necessary to their destination
- Communicates with nursing staff and patients and families about unexpected wait times delaying surgery start time
- Communicates with all departments to maintain information of patient status once surgery has begun and provides updates as requested by families and visitors.
- Communicates with families / visitors at least every hour for surgeries
- Provides consistent communication to the front desk, patient rooms, scheduling and operation room of information about timing of surgery schedule
Your exceptional qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Prior experience in a healthcare field is preferred
