Patient Accounts Representative, Hiring for 1 Full-time & 1 Part-time position

This position is responsible for performing insurance verifications, follow-up and collection efforts. The position takes an active role in attaining and maintaining accounts receivable and assists in reviewing/selecting accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies. Assists in the admission process of patients, maintains census and appeals. This position also assists families/guardians with financial arrangements.

Essential Job Duties:

· Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers financial situations

· Advise customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment

· Persuade customers to pay amounts due on credit accounts or non-payable checks

· Confers with customers by telephone to determine reasons for overdue payments and reviews terms of agreement for repayment

· Verifies insurance coverage for potential patients in a timely manner

· Assists with patient/family financial counseling as needed

· Provides coverage for receptionist when needed

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: High school graduate or equivalency required

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience collections preferred

License/Certification: N/A

Skills: Above average communication skills. Ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner. Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Effective oral and written communication and guest relation skills required. Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.

Physical Requirements: Visual acuity, accurate hearing, extensive sitting and ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
