Responsibilities

This position is a Float Supervisor position, supervising staff on-site at multiple Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital Sites. This position will require travel between campuses.

This is not a remote or teleworking position, it is required that candidates be located within a reasonable driving distance from the Mankato and/or Albert Lea/Austin, MN campuses or be willing to relocate.

This on-site leadership position supports the Hospital Patient Access Emergency Room and Hospital Outpatient Registration staff. The registration staff is responsible for accurate admissions of incoming patients to our facility that includes the collection of patient demographics, insurance information and payment collections. This role supervises and directs professional and support staff for the Revenue Cycle ensuring effective use of employees, equipment & materials within budget & quality standards. Responsible for full spectrum of human resources and operational functions and workflows, including but not limited to performance management, attendance management, training, and quality. Identifies trends, performs tactical planning and carries out strategic plans. Ensures staff has the resources to carry out their responsibilities. Optimizes staff productivity and service; resolves workplace problems of team and processes; develops policies, procedures and guidelines. Possesses the technical knowledge of the function being supervised. Implements retention and recruitment planning initiatives. Participates in the overall management of Revenue Cycle teams through involvement in Enterprise-wide projects, work groups, task forces, councils, and committees. Serves as liaison between area of responsibility and other constituents inside and outside of Mayo. Acts as the subject matter expert for assigned areas of supervision, members of the management team, and different sections within the Revenue Cycle and multiple areas outside of the Revenue Cycle. Maintains expert knowledge of workflows within the scope of responsibility and optimizes the use of available technology.


Qualifications

High School diploma and 5 years of relevant management experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of relevant financial experience

OR Master’s degree required.

Possesses PC skills, both keyboarding and applications. Knowledge of and experience with Finance systems and applications preferred.

Schedule Details

This leadership role supports a team within a 24x7 department. Typical office hours will be Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. However, there could be the occasional night or weekend support.

There may be the occasional night or weekend support needed for upgrades and staffing challenges.
