Pastry Cook

Scratch Bakery is seeking a full-time Pastry Cook with at least one year of hands-on experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced bakery and be eager to learn and develop new skills. Our bakery is well rounded making everything from tarts, cakes, artisan chocolates, breads, French macarons, a variety of cookies, and more! We make everything from scratch daily, using the best ingredients. The quality of these products will be of the utmost importance.

Great day shift schedule with weekends and most holidays off!

Responsibilities:

• Participating in baked good and pastry production
• Baking cakes, tarts, macarons, and cookies
• Making multi-step entremets and mousse cakes
• Preparing buttercream and fillings, assisting with cake and cookie decoration
• Tempering colored cocoa butter and chocolate for making bonbons and bars
• Adding ingredients and finishing items based on handcrafted recipes
• Operating the ovens, setting accurate temperatures to ensure perfection
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area for yourself and the team
• Assisting with additional tasks as needed or required by the Manager
• Maintaining our high standards by ensuring pastries are of the highest quality and prepared on time
• Anticipating supplies for production and making a list of items that are running low to be ordered the following week
• Helps maintain the highest sanitary conditions of the bakeshop

Pastry Cook Requirements:

• At least one year of hands-on baker or pastry cook experience (or culinary school graduate)
• Valid Tulsa County food handler’s card
• Ability to read and follow recipes
• Great organizational skills
• Operate in a highly professional manner with a positive attitude
• Ability to work in a team environment and great oral communication
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (at least 8 hours)
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
