Manager Professional Partnerships - Veterinary Affairs

The Professional Partnerships Manager will create and lead the Hill’s strategy for professional conferences, strategic professional partnerships, and the Transforming Lives tours. In this role you will lead our conference strategy and maintain and develop our strategic partnerships with organized veterinary medicine to ensure Hill’s position as a valuable partner and leader within the veterinary profession. The position reports to Sr. Manager- Partnerships and Strategy.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy development and provide oversight for execution of Hill’s US conference strategy for the vet and pet retail customers, including regional and state VMA meetings
  • Implement innovative solutions and leverage opportunities that ensures Hill’s leads the industry and provides outstanding customer engagement that drives results during conferences
  • Collaborate with commercial partners to ensure conference objectives align and support commercial priorities and go to market plans
  • Lead internal communication and conference grid strategy to align with US commercial priorities
  • Assess and quantify results to guide conference team to make data-driven decisions
  • Provide clear budget strategy for conference budget to ensure strong ROI and maximize Hill’s impact at conferences
  • Provide monthly scorecard of Conference Team progress against objectives.
  • Provide insight and oversee execution of tour strategy with a focus on identifying opportunities to leverage our scientific leadership and influence with each of our customer segments (ie pet, vet, corporate, customer leadership).
  • Provide ongoing collaboration with commercial teams to continuously transform tour strategy and execution to meet customer needs and drive the business to new heights.
  • Identifies emerging opportunities and leverages existing partnerships to advance Hill's position as a leader in the veterinary profession and the animal health industry, with a focus on bolstering scientific leadership, showcasing support of the veterinary profession and exhibiting leadership in DE&I
  • Leads team in managing relationships and contracts with our strategic partners in organized veterinary medicine and allied groups across the veterinary profession.
  • Contributes to the development of strong professional communications strategies (in coordination with Comms Director) and oversees portions of this execution owned by PVA
  • Build and assess budget strategy to maximize Hill’s influence with organized veterinary medicine
  • Excels as an active leader within the US Professional and Commercial Organization.

  • Ensures their team’s plans are aligned to the overall commercial grid, as well as drives brand recommended most often with the profession.

  • Provide leadership, management, coaching, and development for the team members who are responsible for executing the conference strategy and vision, as well as executing the Hill’s Transforming Lives Tours for our vet and pet customers.

  • Embed DEI best practices to promote respect and foster a sense of belonging for all team members
    Hire, onboard, and train new team members as needed


Basic qualifications:

  • DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent
  • 6+ years of professional experience in the veterinary field (animal health industry, academia or clinical practice)
  • Current, active license to practice veterinary medicine in at least one US state
  • Excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation - both in person and virtual).
  • Ability to simultaneously manage a number projects and deadlines with cross-functional partners


Preferred qualifications:

  • Animal health or pet food industry experience
  • Advanced degree(s) in relevant disciplines
  • Experience leading and managing people


Salary Range $100,000 - $147,000 USD
Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
