Position Summary:
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the New Jersey Institute of Technology is currently expanding its course offerings in sociology and social policy and seeking to recruit part-time instructional staff to teach courses on race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, sociology of media and technology, and sociology of religion. Opportunities are available for face-to-face class meetings at different hours of the day and days of the week (including evenings) for the fall semester.
Essential Functions:
Essential functions include submitting a syllabus at the beginning of the semester, delivering lectures and/or facilitating activities to engage students at all class meetings, assigning written course work and grading it in a timely manner, providing ongoing feedback and assigning final grades at the end of the semester. Successful candidates are expected to adhere to academic integrity policies.
Additional Functions:
Availability outside of scheduled class time to meet with students.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Applicants should hold a minimum of a master’s degree in sociology, social policy, social work, or a related field and have prior teaching experience at the university level.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
