Company Background:

• Young and rapidly growing private cardiology practice is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with excellent clinical skills for part time or per diem inpatient hospital coverage at Northwell Health (LIJ Medical Center and/or North Shore University Hospital).
• Practice is offering an excellent hourly salary payable as 1099 income with flexible work scheduling

Position Overview:

• Cardiology practice is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience providing cardiovascular care. Part time/per diem position available.
• Inpatient hospital coverage/rounding required on weekends and/or per diem on weekdays
• Minimum requirement of 1 weekend per month
• If working per diem on weekdays, minumum requirement is 1 weekday per week

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of NY
• Master's Degree N.P./ P.A. clinical care
• 2+ years clinical experience providing care to patients preferred
• Excellent clinical and patient service skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm to use new technology to deliver higher quality, more personal care
• Must have proven skills and knowledge base necessary for independent clinical decision making
• Provide care to patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular disease in an inpatient setting
• Complete comprehensive histories and physicals on patients
• Perform, order and evaluate diagnostic tests such as CT scans, echocardiograms, ultrasounds, stress tests, EKG's, and cardiac catheterizations

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide care at hospital by conducting history and physicals, answering health related questions, making clinical management decisions while ensuring an excellent and consistent patient experience
