Join our growing team at Children's Art Classes! Seeking P/T Art Instructor for curriculum-based art program. Mom's looking for P/T opportunities welcome to apply! Art instructors work in a school environment, students ages 3-18. Five to 15 hours per week. Opportunities for substitution available. Training will be provided.

Skills:

• Teaching experience / Current teaching certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in the arts preferred.
• Artistic skills with variety of mediums including drawing, painting and clay
• Knowledge of art history and techniques
• Instructors should be capable of teaching on a group basis and effectively manage a classroom
• Strong verbal communication skills are essential in this position, and
• Patience and adaptability to change are also important when lessons do not go as planned
• Spanish language skills a plus but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

• Instruct students on technique and use of a variety of art mediums including clay, acrylic, tempera, watercolors, brushes, pens, pencils, canvases and papers
• Follow lesson plans and curriculum according to studio guidelines
• Communicate effectively with parents on student attendance, progress, and challenges
• Take and record attendance of each course
• Manage inventory and communicate when supplies need to be re-ordered
• Keep studio in clean and organized manager
• Optionally, will lead supplemental sessions such as parties and events hosted at our locations

This position is offered as a P/T position. Sessions will be held after school (2-7PM, 45 minutes to 75 minute sessions (dependent on age group)) M-TH and Saturdays. Must be able to work evenings and weekends! Program runs 9 months per year, concurrent with public school calendar. Summer weekly workshops (M-F) from June through August in morning and afternoons.

Paid training and shadowing will be required in order to fully understand the curriculum and layout of studio. Background checks mandatory. Must be willing to commute to Jupiter FL and have reliable transportation.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
