Description
Waveland State Historic Site is a 14-acre park with an antebellum mansion and outbuildings, .25-mile trail, playground, and gardens.
The Part Time Parks Museum Curatorial Assistant will be responsible for a variety of curatorial and administrative tasks. The incumbent will work closely with the park manager on a variety of tasks.

- Supervising seasonal docent staff on history of the park and proper tour procedures

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in museum science, library science, history, archeology, anthropology or a related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Six months of experience in library science or in the identification, cataloging, or research of artifacts.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study in library science, museum science, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a month-for-month basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents in this job title works indoors in climate controlled museum/library. Occasionally works outdoors on ladder or scaffold. Possible exposure to molds and mildew.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
