About the Position:

Community Charter School of Paterson seeks a Parent Engagement Coordinator, dedicated to helping achieve exceptional levels of parent and family involvement in the school. Parent engagement is central to CCSP’s mission and Community Schools philosophy. The goal of a ‘Full-Service Community School is to provide a complete range of support services to students and families focused on overcoming barriers to students’ academic success and parent engagement is fundamental to achieving this goal. The ideal candidate will be intelligent, well organized, centered with exceptional integrity, and a passion for empowering youth, families and communities. They will thrive as part of a highly motivated, committed professional team and support the activities of the Community Schools Department and Home School Council. The candidate will possess: A Bachelor’s degree in social services, public administration, education or a related field with at least 2 years of experience in service to youth.

Key Responsibilities:

● Manage and oversee the day-to-day business operations of the Home School Council including budget development, HSC board recruitment and elections.

● Develop and coordinate Home School Council fundraisers to support student and staff needs.

● Increase parental involvement in Home School Council and other CCSP programs and activities, and volunteer opportunities.

● Attend all parent focused meetings including (but not limited to): HSC, Title I Parent Academies, and Special Education Parent Meetings.

● Develop and coordinate various activities to foster parent and community engagement including CCSP Signature Events and Family Fitness Series.

● Create and direct strategy to recruit community partners and parent volunteers to support CCSP goals.

● Regularly communicate with school administration to ensure work is aligned with school plans. ● Serve as liaison between parents and school staff.

● Work closely with Deans of Students and Operations Managers to connect parents with resources.

● Manage partner and vendor relations including, but not limited to, contracts, MOUs, service documentation, and payments.

● Collaborate with the Director, Building Leaders and school team to improve instructional, culture-building and leadership skills.

● Professional Integrity. A personal alignment with the values and ethical standards of CCSP Schools including guarding confidentiality of student information, parent information and school information.

● Bilingual (Spanish speaking) – preferred

● A valid driver’s license.

● Bachelor’s degree, required.

● 2+ years of progressive experience in education, fundraising, community relations and parent engagement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
