Position Title: Education Support Professional/Paraprofessional

$17 per hour depending on experience.

Position Setting: Day Services M-F

Located in Papillion, M-F schedule 7:30-4:00.

We are looking for an energetic and outgoing individuals with excellent engagement skills, experience with ABLLS Verbal Behavior system, and a willingness to work in a team setting. Strong Microsoft skills, experience with Therap, and a desire to help students with behaviors a plus! If no experience, we will train.

Here at Prime Home DDS, our level 3 school provides a positive approach to learning for students with disabilities ages 13 to 21 years of age, who need a specialized setting to benefit from education. Our school serves students with social, emotional, learning, and behavioral disabilities in and around the Omaha Metro.

Experience Desired: Working with children or young adults, empathy for students with special needs, basic computer skills, gets along well with others, reliable, punctual, patient and understanding. Able to communicate effectively with students and staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Minimum age of 19 years
• Valid Driver’s License
• Background Checks
• Current vehicle Insurance
• Outstanding writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Attention to detail, good time management skills, ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to manage stressful situations responsibly and effectively
• Provides input and assistance in planning and evaluating programs and clients’ goals.
• Maintenance and documentation of records of client’s accidents/incidents as required.
• Physically capable of transferring, assisting with transfers, assisting with lifting clients who require physical assistance
• Increase wage/hour for candidates that possess the following skills or certifications:
• College Degree
• American Sign Language (ASL)
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Registered Behavioral Therapist (RBT)

The following certifications are required - will provide train if necessary:

• CPR/1st Aid
• MANDT
• Med Aid (desired)

Physical Requirements:

• Possess the manual dexterity, physical ability, and stamina for a full day of various physical activity that may include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.

• Must have the ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• Duties are performed in school and at community outings

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring all Students are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing students needs and encouraging independence.
• Develop a rapport with students and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship.

• Update client case notes daily.
• Always ensure an appropriate staff-to-client ratio.
• Always maintain the safety and security of individuals through line of sight supervision.
• Support crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $36,000.00 per year
