The Job:
We are looking for a paralegal who is experienced in NY insurance defense general liability litigation, and is willing to work 3 days a week from our Florham Park, NJ office. Specifically the candidate will be assisting with our Child Victim’s Act/Sexual Assault matters.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to support legal proceedings
- Maintenance and oversight of numerous spreadsheets related to tracking various litigations, clients, and defense counsel
- Manipulating figures and data and performing mathematical calculations relative to these spreadsheets
- Obtaining records and work with experts in all areas of litigation
- Reviewing and summarizing medical records
- Drafting correspondence, pleadings and discovery
- Service of pleadings and discovery
- Prepare, execute and download court filings including electronic filings
- Assisting in preparing cases for trial
- Maintaining litigation docket and calendar, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines
- Billing for time
Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing a large case load and cases involving numerous defendants or multi-district litigation where numerous counsel are involved in the defense of the same client
- Familiarty with manipulating figures and data and performing mathematical calculations related to tracking various litigations, clients, and defense counsel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- College Degree
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Highly Organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with others
- Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at MKCI Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm’s guidelines
