Job description

Position Summary:
The Packer performs various tasks connected with packing and shipping to ensure parts can be delivered to the customer undamaged. Position requires the use of tools such as: nail guns, screw guns, tape measures, foam equipment and power saws. Employees perform basic math functions, data entry tasks to maintain accurate reporting. Employees must be able to perform their assigned daily functions with minimal supervision. Due to the fluctuating demand in this position, employees may be assigned additional duties throughout the plant as needed.

Key Accountabilities:
Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner

Read and follow work instructions

Use wands to report order completion

Calculate box size from finished parts

Builds skids and boxes

Packs finished parts per packing standards

Completes weight slips and ensures correct count

Uses all woodworking, air tools and packing equipment

Operates lifting devices

Passes fork truck training within 30 day sof employment

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Read a tape measure within 1/8"

Basic knowledge of wood working equipment

Basic carpentry skills

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Computer literacy

Written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision
