The Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) structures team is looking for an early in career engineer that is interested in performing structural analysis on military engine programs. Responsibilities of the position include performing analyses to demonstrate durability and structural integrity of MSEN components, participating on multi-disciplined integrated product teams, and presenting analysis results during reviews. Hardware to be analyzed includes bearing compartments, gearboxes, lube pumps, oil tanks, tubes, mount brackets, and ducts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis in support of all phases of product life cycle including preliminary design, detailed design, development testing and validation, certification, delivery support, and post engine production & service support.

  • Monitor MSEN component health during engine validation testing (engine and rig), perform test data-reduction and analysis, and confirm test objectives are met.

  • Support field investigations.

  • Use finite element analysis and classical methods to evaluate for strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.

  • Participate as the structure’s representative on multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight.

  • Work to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.

  • Document analysis results and present conclusions to PW management and external customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and minimum 2+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • US Citizenship or US Person Status required due to government contract requirements.

  • Must be able to Travel at 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or actively pursuing an advanced degree.

  • Active security clearance, or ability to get one.

  • Strong communication and task coordination skills.
