Position Overview:
Overnight Shift - Residential Aide (Part-Time)
As a member of the Williamsburg House Recovery Team, under the supervision of the Residence Director, the Overnight RA shift is primarily responsible for facilitating the residents’ transition through their nightly programming into the next days’ morning schedule, smooth operation of the shift, and the overall monitoring and safety of the residents and the facility.

Job Type: Part-Time
The Overnight shift is from 12 midnight to 8AM or 10AM and we are looking for fill Sun-Tues overnight shifts.

Salary
$17.00 - 18.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and provide support to residents towards their recovery process, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Ensure residents' adherence to their individual schedules and program requirements while fostering positive relationships
  • Assist in ensuring the operations of the shift are completed, including light housekeeping, inventory, maintenance checks and administration
  • Encourage resident engagement with others in the house or via other fun & healthy activities to build camaraderie
  • Administer various drug and alcohol testing (ie: toxicology screening) and document results
  • Participate in monitoring of medications
  • Facilitate morning group meeting
  • De-escalate resident situations, providing appropriate interventions to ensure safety and security
  • Complete written shift change documentation and communicate all pertinent information to Management
  • Perform all duties in accordance with our policies and procedures
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings, as required
  • Other duties, as assigned by Management

Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma (Required).
  • Bachelors degree in Addiction Studies, or related field (Preferred); OR
  • Equivalent combination of related education/work/life experience

Credentials:
  • CRPA (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) or similar credential (Preferred)

Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years working in a peer support, patient care, or hospitality related field (Required)
  • Minimum 1 year working in an addiction treatment or recovery setting (Required)
  • Experience working with young adults aged 18-30 and the early recovery mindset
  • In depth knowledge of the various recovery support groups (12-step, SMART, Refuge etc.) and working with a sponsor
  • Minimum 2 or more years of sustained recovery

  • People person, excellent communication skills, self-motivated to achieve objectives and goals, able to manage stress, effective at conflict resolution, flexible; team player; open to feedback; creative problem solver; practices good self care
  • Passion for helping individuals in recovery
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills, particularly when working with residents
  • Ability to interact warmly and professionally with individuals while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to priority work and meet deadlines
  • Shows initiative and ability to be a self-starter with limited supervision
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment
  • Strong customer service orientation to meet client needs
  • Willingness to perform toxicology screening, CPR, emergency first aid, Naloxone, crisis prevention and de-escalation
  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically MS Word), EMRs, communication & collaboration tools (ie. G-suite, Dropbox, text, video chat), and other relevant software or mobile device-based applications
  • Required to frequently stand, stoop, bend, sit, walk;Ability to walk up and down stairs; Occasionally required to lift or move objects more than 30 lbs and perform manual holds; Must have visual, hearing, and learning capabilities to perform the essential functions
