Treasure Valley Hospital is a 28-bed, Joint Commission accredited surgical facility located in Boise, Idaho, which is consistently recognized for patient satisfaction. Check out our Google Reviews to see why our patients recommend us so highly! TVH has 10 OR's and specializes in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Gynecology, General Surgery and others. We are looking for a qualified Operating Room Aide / Orderly to join our dedicated team. The OR Aide organizes OR equipment and helps prepare surgical rooms as needed. This is a full-time position, five days a week, day shift.
License or Certification: None.
Education, Vocational Training, and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior experience as an OR Aide is preferred but not required.
Interpersonal Relations: Interaction with patients, family members, physicians, teammates, etc., must be in a manner that is friendly, positive, supportive, respectful, courteous, cooperative, and professional. This behavior must promote an atmosphere of teamwork which is consistent with hospital standards and guidelines to ensure a caring healthcare experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- OR Aide maintains patient charts and department logs
- Compiles statistics and researches information
- Must be able to organize and handle details with ease
- Works under tight deadlines
- Must have good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Familiar with medical terminology
- Ability to communicate effectively with hospital personnel
- Works with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under stress
- Must have good reasoning ability and independent judgment
- Must be flexible in performing duties
- Ability to prioritize
Physical Tasks:
- Moderate to extremely heavy physical effort (lift/carry over 50 lbs.); lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients.
- Occasional to frequent extensive or prolonged standing/walking.
- Occasional to considerable reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Machines and Equipment Used: Perioperative equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools, instrument processing equipment, protective equipment, fax machine, photocopier, intercom system, headset, multi-line telephone, computer, time clock.
