POSITION SUMMARY: Facilitate in the manufacture of quality friction brake pads through the preparation of the plates for the press and finishing operations.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Know and practice safety guidelines for each step of process.
- Sorting of plates including visual quality checks while preparing plates for spraying.
- Operate spray booths to include pre-shift checks for adhesive level, spray volume, travel speed, exhaust air flow, oven temperatures, etc.
- Monitor level of hamatite in reservoir of each spray booth and add hamatite following OP-PP-C-002.
- Move and maintain smooth operation of trays of plates through spraying/curing operation.
- Monitor oven temperatures and curing time for both ovens.
- Perform quality check following final curing cycle, box plates in totes and stage on racks for plate mold/spigot operation.
- Ability to interpret production schedule and maintain production standards.
- Maintain quality level.
- Accurately report quality and production data for assigned shift.
- Maintain 5S housekeeping concepts in all areas of plate prep/molding/spigot.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions (e.g., working around moving machines in production facilities) and protective clothing or gear such as safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes is required.
