As our Operations Manager, you will lead the charge in setting up and defining the processes in Blank Street's Operations team to ensure that the market is running smoothly day to day for our teams and our customers. You will thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment and have a thirst for startup life. You and your team are constantly striving for product perfection across every cup of coffee and interaction within our spaces. You are a pro at multi-tasking and are extremely well organized, self-motivated, and master flawless execution in everything that you do.

You'll Own

People

  • Lead and mentor a team of existing General Managers, Assistant General Managers and Field teams to grow and develop in their roles and to perform at their best each day
  • With HQ support, hire and source incredible future talent, staying ahead of org needs in line with business growth
  • Be the gatekeeper of training standards through our world-class LMS in line with the training team to ensure all materials, tools and processes are being adopted and adhered to
  • Develop and champion succession planning for all field team roles, ensuring our employees are always motivated by opportunities and development
  • Work hand-in-hand with the People Team to maintain a desired eNPS, ensuring our field teams feel supported and heard
  • Develop and foster cross functional relationships and build effective communication tools between HQ and the Field to create harmony and connection

Physical spaces

  • Create and maintain efficient processes and daily duties for our field leadership teams through our auditing platform to promote productivity, store cleanliness and customer satisfaction
  • Own the role of unblocking all field positions to ensure they have the tools and environments they need to succeed
  • Ensure our spaces are always operating safely for our teams and our customers

Product

  • Maintain coffee quality standards across your store and assist coffee trainers in ensuring recipes made with precision and perfect execution
  • Hold great relationships with our vendors and be a professional, communicative partner

Performance

  • Drive top line sales growth by supporting and leading cross departmental initiatives such as community engagement, marketing campaigns, events and seasonal product launches
  • Constantly review areas of improvement across the business with key focuses on our team, the financial health of the business and the customer experience
  • Own the underlying KPI's and budget for the New York Market. Key KPIs include:
    • Striving for high productivity through efficient labor planning
    • Mitigating wastage, while maximizing AOV
    • Accuracy with inventory reporting and goods handling
    • Quality of our product and NPS
    • Health of each stores individual P&L

Who you are

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality
  • 5+ years of experience leading multiple large teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in finance, P&L oversight, and budgeting
  • Track record of hiring senior roles and retaining top talent
  • Customer & employee experience obsessed
  • Growth mindset
  • Entrepreneurial thinker
  • Strong multitasker with proven ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Excellent communicator, written and verbal
  • Coffee experience a big plus

Benefits

  • $90K-$110K annual salary
    • Blank Street, in good faith, believes that the posted salary range is accurate for this role in New York City at the time of posting. Our salary ranges are rooted in the desire to pay competitively relative to our organization size and industry, reflecting just one part of the total compensation package. Additional components include equity offering, healthcare benefits, paid time off and various work perks (commuter benefits, free coffee). Details will be discussed during the interview process. Blank Street may pay more or less than the posted range based on factors such as relevant experience and skills, qualifications and location, among others. This range may be modified in the future.
