AVI Foodsystems is located at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in University City, Philadelphia, PA.

The Operations Manager will focus on assisting with the success of the operations – leading, coaching, developing and managing the operational management team to exceed standards and focus on consistent, failure free service for our patients and guests through proper leadership, delegation, communication and coaching. High level of collaboration and communication with leaders and team members to ensure proper accountability and recognition is aligned.

The Operations Manager will oversee patient services, culinary production, retail cafeteria, Starbucks, self-serve market store and safety/sanitation for food services at HUP. They will understand the importance of the patient experience and focus daily operational success to provide the highest level of care o our patients and guests.

The ideal leader will have a sustained record of effective and advanced leadership in their career. They are responsible for sustaining an environment with respect and professionalism and focused on improving processes and standards to ensure safe, high quality care and food consistently. Additionally, this leader will improve operations through quality improvement activities through data-driven decisions with transparency and integrity.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• 
  Manage and lead all food service operations
• 
  Hire, orientate and train leaders to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are met
• 
  Create and manage management schedules
• 
  Manage inventory, food waste and cost of goods to meet or exceed financial budget goals
• 
  Manage labor to financial budget and timekeeping in ADP payroll system
• 
  Inspect the operations on a regular basis to ensure that established quality standards are met and maintained
• 
  Ensure proper processes, food safety, cleanliness, organization and other efficiencies are properly maintained across all food service departments
• 
  Collaborate with the Director of Nutrition Services and leadership team to create, implement, and improve policies, processes and procedures
• 
  Conflict resolution; maintain positive team member relations in accordance with a fair and just environment
• 
  Able to work independently with minimal instruction with excellent time management skills
• 
  Provide managers with proper direction and follow up on assignments
• 
  Provide high quality customer service and satisfaction, focusing on meeting or exceeding Press Ganey goals
