SWRSC is currently looking for a full-time Assistant Nurse Manager for the Operating Room to provide support and managerial assistance to the OR Manager by managing daily unit operations that include: staffing and scheduling, orientation and on-boarding, education and competency assessment, budget monitoring, maintaining & establishing patient care standards, and implementing quality improvement measures. The Assistant Nurse Manager is an additional resource and back-up support for the unit staff and departmental operations.

High volume specialties include orthopedics, neuro, general surgery, total joints, ENT, and pain management. We have a highly skilled team of nurses and clinical staff that provide clinical excellence, supporting patients and the surgeons in all phases of the surgical process.
  • Company Growth: Newly opened Interventional Procedural Center and expansion of operating rooms allowing for an additional 1,800 – 2,000 surgeries annually.

What you will do:

  • Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, selection, education and evaluations of staff.
  • Assists in the assessment of technical and professional education needs of staff and participates in developing or providing educational resources to assure competency of all unit caregivers.
  • Supports the Nurse Manager to create and maintain a positive work environment that supports a culture of shared decision-making and open communication where staff are held accountable for patient and unit outcomes.
  • Understands the departmental budget and makes decisions under the leadership of the Nurse Manager regarding the expenditures of funds to meet department objectives and maintain costs within budgeted amounts
  • Utilize established channels of communication to share information, receive feedback and report concerns.

What You Will Need:

  • Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required; MSN/MN preferred
  • Two years supervisory/leadership/charge nurse experience in health care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • 2 years experience in the operating room preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations
  • Current RN License & BLS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47.35 - $71.03 per hour
