On-Site Wellness Coordinator – NYC NY

The Onsite Wellness Coordinator will work closely with the Client’s Health and Wellness team in executing the organization’s health management goals. The primary focus of the Onsite Wellness Coordinator is engagement, health promotion, and connecting customers with wellness resources. In collaboration with the clinical operations team, the Onsite Wellness Coordinator executes the appropriate delivery and coordination of wellness programs including event scheduling and appointment coordination, community and vendor programs, and monitors effectiveness of the programs.

The focus of the Onsite Wellness Coordinator is the working well population of employees in aggregate. A core objective of this position is to facilitate wellness programs that educate and influence employees at the worksite to lead healthy lifestyles.

General Responsibilities

1. Support Wellness Strategies
a. Engage leaders in data driven decision making regarding support of their employees
b. Support wellness champion network including different levels of employer leadership and employees from the worksite
c. Review the proposed health promotion strategy with the wellness committee, partnering with the IPHT program manager and local site contact for health and wellness as appropriate

2. Collaborate in development and delivery of promotion campaign
a. Newsletters, posters, email, raffles, reminders, etc.
b. Overall promotion development and deployment
c. Distribution to local leaders, resource centers, and other areas

3. Health Awareness Seminars / Education
a. End to end coordination of health awareness seminars
b. Deliver single or multi-session workshops on a group basis (lunch and learn) Comfortable speaking in front of groups
c. Develop or pull from defined list of wellness topics; may be tailored to population, season, etc.
d. Education for various health related topics (nutrition/healthy eating, physical activity, etc.)
e. Back up for health coaching one on one sessions

4. Wellness Campaigns
a. Facilitate health related group activities among population over a defined time period (walking groups, weight loss support groups, etc.)
b. Focus of campaign is lifestyle habit change/improvement

5. Wellness Event/Fair
a. Assist employer HR/mgmt with coordination of event/fair (member of employer led planning committee) Guest speakers, health assessment, open enrollment, family wellness event, annual biometric event, etc.
b. Speak at staff meetings or pre-shift meetings to provide wellness resource overviews, health promotion content, or answer wellness related questions
c. Engage customers at wellness fairs, biometric events, and safety fairs into wellness resources

6. Connect customers with existing resources
a. Support completion of the personal health assessment
b. Serve as a one stop shop for wellness resource information
c. Schedule coaching appointments
d. Share educational materials and provide education sessions as appropriate

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 or more years of experience in health and wellness field
  • Bachelor’s degree in health education, health promotion, or health related field
  • Experience with direct member communication (written and verbal)
  • Experience in health education and wellness coaching preferred
  • Experience conducting educational and support groups preferred
  • CHES preferred
  • Masters of Public Health, Health Promotion or related field preferred

This position is based on site in New York NY.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 60,400 - 100,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
